Top 4 really useful promotional items for business travelers

Whether you be in banking, law, insurance, IT or any other job travel is an inevitable part of the Hong Kong lifestyle. Flying to conferences, exhibitions, meetings and projects means the busy traveler lives out of carefully packed suitcases with just the bare essentials weighing them down.

So this person is going to junk any promotional gift that isn’t really useful and usable on a regular basis.

Here are my top 4 products which are all, funnily enough, best sellers for my company.

Travel adaptors

A real essential to keep all your mobile devices charged and functioning. Make sure you get one with at least two usb ports so you can charge more than one device at a time. Keep it with you all the time as most airlines now supply charging points on board. Some of the more interesting models have internal LED lights to show up a logo and which also show you that the adaptor is properly plugged in.

Passport holder

I always keep my passport in its own holder along with my airline tickets, car hire papers and foreign currency. The holder is leather and I’ve been using the same one for years.

If you don’t like the idea of leather then there are many holders made from PU that look almost exactly like leather as they have the “grain” embossed into their surface during manufacture.

Check that the holder has enough pockets for all your credit cards, driving licence, health certificates etc.

I like leather items embossed rather than printed as the embossing is more subtle and it means I don’t feel I am advertising someone else’s name all the time.

Multi Connectors

These days it’s a real job keeping up with all the different cables that you need to charge and connect devices. There’s the standard USB, the micro usb, the C Type connector and, of course, the unique connectors that Apple devices require.

Fortunately there are some great connecting devices and I particularly like this one that has all four common connectors with strong woven links connecting through a central hub. Its small enough to carry around but sturdy enough to stand up to long term use.

Powerbank/Charger

Powerbanks are perfect for the busy business traveler. The one I like is the Alpha power bank which is a sleek and elegantly designed accessory for your phone or tablet. The casing is a mix of ABS and aluminium coated with a soft-feel rubberised coating that can be laser engraved to show your logo in a bright silver which contrasts strongly with the black background.
